Minties bag

A co-worker is moving on to fresh pastures and requested a sloth or lollies as a farewell gift. I was going to crochet her a magnetic sloth but then I opted for this. I had to eat a whole packet of minties as research (I suffer for my art).

This pattern uses a 3.5 mm hook and white, green and red 8 ply wool.

With white wool

Chain 36 (one is a turning chain)

Row 1: sc 35 along the chain (35 stitches)

Row 2: sc in each stitch (35 stitches)

Rows 3 – 4: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 green, 15 white, 10 green) (two rows)

Rows 5 – 6: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 red, 15 white, 10 red) (two rows)

Rows 7 – 8: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (all white) (two rows)

Rows 9 – 10: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 green, 15 white, 10 green) (two rows)

Rows 11 –12: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 red, 15 white, 10 red) (two rows)

Rows 13 – 14: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (all white) (two rows)

Rows 15 – 16: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 green, 15 white, 10 green) (two rows)

Rows 17 –18: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 red, 15 white, 10 red) (two rows)

Rows 19 – 20: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (all white) (two rows)

Rows 21 – 22: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 green, 15 white, 10 green) (two rows)

Rows 23 –24: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 red, 15 white, 10 red) (two rows)

Rows 25 – 26: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (all white) (two rows)

Rows 27 – 28: sc in each stitch (35 stitches) (10 green, 15 white, 10 green) (two rows)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Sew the two long ends of the wrapper together.

Embroider your own minties moment. Mine is based on the fact that my friend has a strong aversion to my chilli chocolate cupcakes (which makes no sense, because they are delicious).

Weave some white wool through the ends of the stripes at one end. Pull tight, fasten off and weave in the ends.

With white wool and a 2 mm hook, chain 60. Fasten off. Weave it through the ends of the stripes at the other end. Ties the ends together to form a loop and weave in the ends.

You now have a drawstring bag to store your minties in, ready for your next minties moment 🙂
